Comparison with Traditional Dental Practices

In recent years, the dental industry has witnessed a significant shift towards more holistic and environmentally-conscious practices, with mercury-free dentistry gaining traction as a safe and sustainable alternative. Newport Beach, a community known for its commitment to health and wellness, has embraced this trend, with numerous dental practices offering mercury-free services. Comparing these practices to traditional dental approaches highlights several key differences that contribute to their increasing popularity.

Traditional dental practices have long relied on amalgam fillings, which contain a mixture of metals, including mercury. While these fillings are durable and cost-effective, concerns have been raised about the potential health risks associated with mercury exposure. Mercury is a known neurotoxin, and even small amounts can be harmful to humans, especially pregnant women and young children. As awareness of these risks has grown, so has the demand for mercury-free alternatives.

Mercury-free dental practices in Newport Beach focus on using composite resin fillings, which are not only aesthetically pleasing but also free from harmful toxins. These fillings match the natural color of teeth, providing a seamless appearance that traditional silver amalgam fillings cannot offer. Furthermore, composite resins bond directly to the tooth structure, often requiring less drilling and preserving more of the natural tooth. This conservative approach aligns with the broader shift towards minimally invasive dentistry, prioritizing the preservation of original tooth material.

In addition to health and aesthetic benefits, mercury-free dentists in Newport Beach often adopt a holistic approach to dental care. They consider the overall health of the patient, integrating dental treatment with general well-being. This approach may include the use of biocompatible materials, digital radiography to minimize radiation exposure, and even complementary therapies such as nutritional counseling or stress reduction techniques.

Patient reviews of mercury-free dentists in Newport Beach frequently highlight the personalized care and attention to detail that these practices offer. Many patients appreciate the focus on education, with dentists taking the time to explain procedures and discuss the benefits of mercury-free dentistry. This patient-centered approach fosters a trusting relationship and encourages individuals to take an active role in their dental health.

Furthermore, mercury-free dental practices often prioritize environmental sustainability. By eliminating the use of mercury and other harmful substances, these practices reduce their ecological footprint and contribute to a healthier planet. This commitment to eco-friendly practices resonates with patients who are increasingly conscious of their environmental impact.

In conclusion, the comparison between mercury-free and traditional dental practices in Newport Beach reveals a clear trend towards safer, more sustainable, and patient-focused care. As awareness of the potential risks associated with mercury in dentistry continues to grow, so too does the demand for mercury-free alternatives. With their emphasis on health, aesthetics, and holistic care, mercury-free dentists in Newport Beach are setting a new standard for dental practice, one that aligns with the values of their community and the evolving expectations of patients.

Benefits of Choosing a Mercury-Free Dentist

Choosing a mercury-free dentist in Newport Beach offers numerous benefits, particularly for individuals who are health-conscious and environmentally aware. Mercury, a heavy metal used in traditional dental amalgam fillings, has been a topic of concern due to its potential health risks. As awareness grows, more people are opting for mercury-free dental practices to ensure better health outcomes and a safer environment.

One of the primary benefits of choosing a mercury-free dentist is the elimination of exposure to mercury-related health risks. Mercury can release small amounts of vapor over time, especially when chewing or grinding teeth, potentially leading to health issues. By opting for mercury-free fillings, patients can avoid this exposure and pursue a safer dental care option. This peace of mind is invaluable for many, particularly for those who are pregnant, have young children, or are managing chronic health conditions.

In addition to health benefits, mercury-free dentists often employ modern materials that are not only safe but also aesthetically pleasing. Composite fillings, for example, can be matched to the natural color of a patient's teeth, offering a more attractive appearance compared to traditional silver amalgam fillings. This cosmetic advantage is particularly appealing for individuals who prioritize their smile's appearance.

Choosing a mercury-free dentist also supports environmental sustainability. Mercury from dental practices can contribute to environmental pollution when not disposed of properly. By choosing a dentist who uses alternatives to mercury, patients contribute to reducing the environmental impact and promoting a greener planet. This is a critical consideration for those committed to reducing their ecological footprint.

Moreover, mercury-free dentists are often at the forefront of dental innovation, utilizing the latest technologies and techniques for improved patient outcomes. This commitment to advanced care can result in more comfortable and efficient dental treatments. Patients can benefit from shorter recovery times and less invasive procedures, enhancing their overall dental experience.

In conclusion, selecting a mercury-free dentist in Newport Beach offers significant advantages, including reduced health risks, enhanced aesthetic outcomes, and a smaller environmental impact. As more individuals become aware of these benefits, the demand for mercury-free dental practices continues to grow, reflecting a broader shift towards healthier and more sustainable healthcare choices. Whether for personal health, cosmetic reasons, or environmental concerns, choosing a mercury-free dentist is a decision that aligns with modern values and priorities.

An oral implant (likewise referred to as an endosseous dental implant or component) is a prosthesis that interfaces with the bone of the jaw or head to support an oral prosthesis such as a crown, bridge, denture, or face prosthesis or to act as an orthodontic anchor. The basis for contemporary oral implants is an organic process called osseointegration, in which products such as titanium or zirconia develop an intimate bond to the bone. The dental implant fixture is very first positioned to ensure that it is likely to osseointegrate, then an oral prosthetic is included. A variable amount of recovery time is needed for osseointegration prior to either the oral prosthetic (a tooth, bridge, or denture) is attached to the implant or a joint is placed which will certainly hold an oral prosthetic or crown. Success or failure of implants depends mostly on the thickness and health of the bone and gingival cells that surround the dental implant, however also on the wellness of the person getting the treatment and drugs which affect the possibilities of osseointegration. The quantity of anxiety that will certainly be put on the implant and fixture throughout regular function is also reviewed. Preparation the position and number of implants is essential to the long-lasting wellness of the prosthetic given that biomechanical forces produced during eating can be substantial. The position of implants is established by the position and angle of nearby teeth, by laboratory simulations or by using computed tomography with CAD/CAM simulations and surgical guides called stents. The prerequisites for lasting success of osseointegrated dental implants are healthy bone and gingiva. Because both can degeneration after tooth removal, pre-prosthetic procedures such as sinus lifts or gingival grafts are often required to recreate ideal bone and gingiva. The last prosthetic can be either dealt with, where a person can not get rid of the denture or teeth from their mouth, or detachable, where they can eliminate the prosthetic. In each case a joint is connected to the dental implant component. Where the prosthetic is taken care of, the crown, bridge or denture is repaired to the abutment either with lag screws or with dental cement. Where the prosthetic is removable, a corresponding adapter is placed in the prosthetic to ensure that both pieces can be protected together. The risks and difficulties associated with dental implant treatment divide into those that happen throughout surgery (such as too much blood loss or nerve injury, poor main security), those that take place in the initial six months (such as infection and failure to osseointegrate) and those that happen lasting (such as peri-implantitis and mechanical failures). In the existence of healthy tissues, a well-integrated implant with proper biomechanical tons can have 5-year plus survival rates from 93 to 98 percent and 10-to-15-year life expectancies for the prosthetic teeth. Long-term studies reveal a 16- to 20-year success (implants making it through without difficulties or modifications) in between 52% and 76%, with complications taking place as much as 48% of the time.

Dr. Syrus Elicus did a fantastic job doing a composite on one of my teeth. I never liked the asymmetrical shape of it and always wanted it to be more square. He did it in like 15 minutes! Thank you so much Dr Syrus I am so happy with my result.

I loved my experience here. Every single member of their staff was excellent, kind, pleasant and knowledgable. There is an ease of the place, a peaceful one, not only in their energy but also in their holistic approach. It was my first time being treated with airflow and it was a wonderful experience. This provider gives me great confidence as my health is everything, we only have one body and as we are learning, oral care is a huge component of that. Thank you to all the staff at Dental Health and Wellness Newport.

The staff is thoughtful, kind, attentive, and knowledgeable. The dentists spend plenty of time explaining and showing what is happening in your mouth. It was wonderful to not feel like they were rushing just to move on to the next patient. I felt that my concerns and questions were worth answering and that what I had to say was valuable. I highly recommend Beverly Hills Dental Health and Wellness.

I have been a patient at Beverly Hills Dental Health and Wellness for about 4 years now. I am very thankful for this dental office. The staff is excellent! The office manager and other office staff, the assistants, hygenists, and dentists.... they are all excellent! I feel very comfortable and confident in knowing that this is a staff that is concerned about my oral health. I recently brought my oldest child here as well for a tooth extraction and the service and treatment that he received was excellent. I used to drive to Beverly Hills but today I went to the Newport Beach office and I am so thankful that the drive is closer for me now!!! You will be in good hands. The service and treatment is excellent!!!

Avoid Beverly Hills Dental Health and Wellness—overpriced, dishonest, and unprofessional. Rude & Incompetent Staff: The front desk, especially office manager Leeshane, is extremely rude, hangs up on patients, and lies about billing. I’ve spent months trying to fix an insurance issue due to their incorrect Tax ID, which caused multiple claim rejections. They claimed to resubmit my claim 10+ times, but Delta Dental only received two incorrect submissions. Hidden Costs & Deceptive Practices: Came in for an X-ray, but they performed a Cone Beam CT Scan without telling me the price or that it wasn’t a standard X-ray. They never explain what they’re doing or what it will cost until you get the bill. Mediocre Dental Work at Insane Prices: Extremely overpriced for average at best dental care. They focus on money, not patients. 🚨 This place is a scam. If you value your money and sanity, STAY AWAY!
